The lift for public transport with gradient changes
Quezzi District, Genoa, Italy
CHALLENGE
The ground contour was uneven and the required excavation for a straight line rail was not environmentally acceptable, and very expensive too.
MASPERO ELEVATORI SOLUTION
We have realized a double gradient lift travelling for 27 m in a tunnel, 23 m in a trench and the final 81 m above ground. By means of this technical solution, the excavation required has been reduced to a minimum.
The freight elevator disappearing into the pavement
Prestigious Museum, London, UK
CHALLENGE
It was necessary to receive big trucks to move art pieces without affecting the appearance of the historical building of the Museum in down town.
MASPERO ELEVATORI SOLUTION
We have designed and manufacured a unique lorry lift, that allows trucks to come in directly from the street level and lower them to the basement floors, down to warehouses and laboratories. When the elevator is in the lower floors, the shaft is sealed by a jack up lid.
The cabins entering the heart of the hill
Via Montegalletto, Genoa, Italy
CHALLENGE
ld route connecting the lower to the higher part of this Genoa District should be renovated, possibly avoiding people to walk along the long and damp tunnel under the hill before reaching the old vertical lift.
MASPERO ELEVATORI SOLUTION
We have realized a two cabins installation, each of which travels horizontally first and then vertically through the old shaftway. The lift is completely automatic and remotely controlled.
The transforming flooring
Credito Industriale Sardo Auditorium, Cagliari, Italy
CHALLENGE
The architect Renzo Piano wanted the maximum flexibility for this place, both in terms of its use and accessibility.
MASPERO ELEVATORI SOLUTION
We have designed a stage with a flooring made of 18 moving elements, each one 11 m long, with retractable chairs. This system allows to shape the place as an auditorium, a gallery or a stall.
The lift appearing from nowhere
Headquater Hines Italy, Milan
CHALLENGE
How to grant disabled people the access from the ground main entrance to the exhibition and auditorium area, 5 meters below the pavement, without occupying the sidewalk.
MASPERO ELEVATORI SOLUTION
We have studied and installed a platform which disappears into the pavement and covered by a hatch resembling the pavement, with specific safety devices against shearing and crushing.
