One of the iconic monuments of Italy and of Rome, the Colosseum, is now fully accessible thanks to the installation of a panoramic lift, particularly innovative in design and construction.
The inauguration ceremony with the cutting of the ribbon took place in the presence of the Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano.
Thanks to the installation of this panoramic lift, it will now be possible for all people, with or without motor disabilities, to reach the gallery between the 2nd and 3rd levels, which can now be used again after careful restoration work. Thanks to a pressure anchoring system, this system minimizes the occupation of space and respects the existing masonry.
“After having contributed with one of our inclined lifts to making a World Heritage monument such as the Acropolis of Athens accessible, we are extremely proud as Maspero Elevatori to have been involved in this prestigious project which after 5 years is now finally seeing the light. The development and construction phase of this important work has been made even more complex by the pandemic which has greatly extended the times also from the point of view of authorizations” declared Eng. Andrea Maspero, Chief Executive Officer of Maspero Elevatori.
