A unique complex, located at five different altitudes, the first and largest mountain lagoon in the world: it is the new citadel “IL Monte Galala” in Sokhna, Egypt. Thanks to Maspero Elevatori’s four inclined panoramic elevators it will be much easier to move from the Desert to the Red Sea.
The project, curated by the architectural firm Gianluca Peluffo and Partners, extends from the top of Mount Galala to the Red Sea, spreading over an area of over 2.24 million square meters and an uncontaminated coastline of 1.4 km, with beaches, commercial areas, 5-star hotels and luxury villas.
The four inclined panoramic elevators commissioned to Maspero Elevatori are designed for outdoor installation, with cabin and glass doors framed in AISI 316 stainless steel, unilateral access and able to withstand high salinity and sea wind.
While the team of designers is working in the head office of Appiano Gentile (CO) to complete the order by the end of next year, the first lift has already been delivered: with a capacity of 1,500 kg it can carry up to 20 people in a 83, 7 meters travel, with an inclination ranging from 27.4° to 5.5°.
It is a very important project not only for its size but also for the positioning of the new city, halfway between Cairo and the Red Sea, within the infrastructure and industrial development system of Egypt.
