Izmit, Turkey – The Izmit Bay Bridge, located at the Gulf of Izmit along the eastern end of the Sea of Marmara, in close vicinity of Izmit, is a suspension bridge currently under construction. When completed it will be Europe’s second longest with its central span of 1,550m.

The structure is a key part of the of Turkey’s largest-ever highway project, and it will have a total length of 3,020m with its supporting towers reaching the height of 252m.

The Japanese machinery maker and engineering firm IHI, world leader in suspended bridge contracting, has selected Maspero Elevatori for the elevators each one servicing inside the tower pylons (four in total, one for each tower leg), having a total travel of 230m and running at high speed.

Maspero Elevatori holds in fact a large number of references at worldwide level for this type of installations and is able to guarantee the performances and safety a project of this nature and complexity necessarily requires.
