In the new Rizzoli bookshop, reopened after the restoration by the architect Paolo Lucchetta, in the magnificent setting of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Milan, the rooms, embellished with design objects (with pieces by Viabizzuno, Nemo, Ingo Maurer Zettel and Reggiani) are flexible and welcoming, able to host events, exhibitions, conversations, presentations, round tables. To be able to play with spaces and open the bookcase to the outside. A vital environment, in constant evolution, capable of transforming each visit into an ever new, unique experience; to build a strong bond with the community. Icon of the Italian and international cultural landscape, La Rizzoli Galleria is a reference point for the city of Milan.
The bookstore is on three floors. The elevator interpret the philosophy of spaces by playing with the transparency of full glass: a “deconstructed”, almost incorporeal presence, which minimizes the visual impact, enhancing the airiness of the rooms and the concept of “openness” pursued by both the architectural and cultural.
The bespoke lift made by Maspero Elevatori for the Rizzoli bookstore in Milan is a glass elevator for a retail store with a modern interior decor; functional and with a stainless steel structure. The location is the outlet in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in the city center; this lift is the result of the best technology combined with refined aesthetic taste that is also evident in the details: a design internal operating panel with minimal finishing.
The lift is operated by a hydraulic piston positioned under the cabin platform in order to guarantee a glazed cabin on all four sides. Some further technical features: – there are three stops all positioned on the same side for a total distance of just over 9.5 meters; – the cabin has dimensions 1000x1200mm; – the crystal has a three layer extra clear crystal regarding the triple layer of 6 + 0.75 + 6 + 0.75 + 6mm, while the walls are 5 + 0.75 + 5mm
